In Honor of Andrew Winter: One of Tutorial Services' Greatest Physics Tutors.
H: ...so I was wondering if you will describe the flick of the fish as it's pulled from the water in terms of vectors and momentums?
Andrew: Easy. Model the flapping as a sine wave. Now let the vectors be a function of that wave, i.e. momentum vector p(x,t) = f(x) * sin(kx + wt),
where k is the angular wave number k=(2*pi) / lambda, w is the angular frequency w=2*pi / period, and f(x) is the amplitude.
