"No-Show" Policy
If a student has a tutoring appointment but does not show up, he/she is considered a "no-show". When this occurs, the student
is sent an automatic email notifying him/her of the no-show and how many no-shows are in his/her record.
For the 2007-2008 Academic Year:
- 1 No-Show will result in deactivated from the scheduling system, and you will no longer be able to make appointments with us
until your status is updated by the Director of Tutorial Services or the Tutor Coordinator.
- 2 appointments canceled less than 24 hours are allowed. On the 3rd time a student cancels less than 24 hours in advance
he/she will be deactivated.
There is no penalty for canceling appointments more than 24 hours prior.
So what do you do if you are deactivated?
- Contact the Tutor Coordinator and make an appointment to come by and get information regarding the Reactivation Procedure.
- Students who are deactivate are required to write a formal letter of apology to the tutor/s they affected. You will recieve
instructions on the format of the letter and information regarding your missed appointment when you come to your meeting.
- Upon completion and submission of your letter, the staff will review your case, and if the all is completed to satisfaction,
your status will be updated.
In some extreme cases, no-shows are lifted by the Director or the Tutor
Coordinator. Be advised that this happens very rarely, so do not expect it to happen to you.
